Making Care Visible: A January Round-Up from We Are Louise

Young children running in a field

We hope 2026 has started well for you and that the year is already taking shape. January certainly hasn’t been quiet on our end, so we wanted to share what we’ve been working on and open the door to a few ways you can get involved with us this month.

January set the tone

The year began at pace and with purpose. In just one month, we welcomed two new Alternative Provisions into our world, Westside School W6 and The Positive Impact Foundation, and delivered two full brand messaging frameworks for organisations working directly with young people. Our design and strategy teams have been deep in campaigns, communications packs and rebrands, helping organisations bring clarity and confidence to how their work is seen and understood. A big shout-out to Nthatisi Morare and Savannah Morton for taking the lead on these incredible projects! This is the work we care about. Making care and Alternative Provision visible, making it strong and making it matter.

Free virtual masterclass this month

On Monday 26th February, we’re hosting a free 40-minute virtual masterclass for organisations across the children’s sector. Why Marketing Matters in the Children’s Sector: 1:00pm to 1:40pm, live on Zoom. This session is about why good work still gets missed and what to do when it does. Led by Gemma Harvey, our Marketing Account Strategist, and Kurt Wilson-Luck, our Head of Growth, we’ll be sharing practical insight from the work we’re doing every day. We’ll cover what helps a message land in a noisy space, how to build trust with families, funders and local authorities, why your brand should feel as confident as your impact, and the mistakes we’ve helped clients avoid, alongside what changed once they fixed them. Spaces are limited, so if marketing, comms or visibility sit anywhere on your remit, it’s worth joining. You’re also very welcome to pass this on to someone else in your team. Click here to save your place today.

The Open Door Club

We know how isolating leadership in this sector can feel, so we built the Open Door Club as a practical way to support the people doing the work. Once a month, we open our calendars for free one-to-one sessions with founders and senior leaders across education, care and children’s services. There’s no pitch and no pressure. Just a space to think clearly with people who understand the context you’re working in. These sessions are often used to sense-check messaging, look at referral packs or websites, get clarity on a campaign idea or talk through how to communicate impact more confidently. If that sounds useful, you can email kurt@wearelouise.co.uk to join the Open Door Club or book a session.

A few highlights from the month

We spent time at the Provisions Plus+ Alternative Provision Conference, hosted by Jade Neivens-Brown, in Coventry, listening, learning and having honest conversations with leaders across the sector. Thank you to everyone who shared their experience with us! Our design team delivered several visual identity projects this month, helping organisations leave with brands that feel as credible and confident as the work behind them. Internally, we’re also continuing to sharpen We Are Louise. There’s more coming this year, and we’re excited about where it’s heading!

If this all feels timely

If you’ve been sitting on a rebrand, struggling to explain what makes your work different, or feeling like your communications no longer reflect the reality of what you deliver, this might be the moment to act. You can start by joining our free masterclass this month, or you can reach out directly to kurt@wearelouise.co.uk to talk through what support might look like for you.
